Rockwell article released
As previously reported, XCS have been featured in an article spotlighting the advantages of the latest Rockwell Automation solutions. The article has now been released. A copy can be viewed by clicking here.
XCS to feature in Rockwell Automation Article
We recently completed a line control project, using the latest solutions from Rockwell Automation. Due to the size of the project, and a very successful start up, Rockwell approached us with the view to using the project to highlight the new features found in RSLogix 5000 version 16. They originally proposed a Web Cast, with interviews and footage of the production line. Unfortunately (but quite understandably), due to the confidential nature of the project, our customer would not permit this. However, two of our engineers, that were involved in the project, have been interviewed about the the new features in version 16 and the benefits for designing, programming, installing, commissioning, and maintaining a system that correctly utilises these features.
The system consists of 3 ControlLogix 5561s controlling a total of 150 PowerFlex (40 and 70) drives. The system also utilises 3 PanelView Plus CE HMIs for control, monitoring and diagnostics. All of these components, including 9 separate remote I/O racks, machine interlocks, and data collection, are connected and controlled using EtherNet/IP networks.
The close integration of EtherNet/IP devices into RSLogix5000 version 16 was just one of the many new features that contributed to the projects success.
As soon as the article is available, we will post a link to it from this page.

The design and manufacture of complete control systems for 2 new presses.Inside Can Spray Machines (LSMs).
PLC conversion of 3 banks of Spray Machines. The old machines were controlled by Allen-Bradley PLC-2 and PLC-5 controllers. The new software was designed by XCS for ControlLogix PLCs, and was designed in such a way as to ensure that all the 3 banks of machines have identical controls, despite the different types of PLC, and ages of the previous installations.Bodymakers (WIMs).
The design and commissioning of PLC and HMI software for 6 new Sequa B6 Bodymakers. This software was designed to integrate into our customers existing electrical design. It featured a Siemens S7-315F fail-safe PLC, whereby all the safety systems are controlled within the software. The above examples illustrate XCS Systems experience, and flexibility, in working with a diverse range of machinery, in a broad range of roles, from a complete turn key project, to a single element of the design, build, installation and commissioning process.
